A Christmas Present

The Christmas tree took almost three hours to decorate. It’s one of those things that can’t be rushed. It took me two full weeks to decide on the perfect spot for  the wreaths and to decorate the dining room table. Eventually everything began to look and feel like Christmas.

We talked about what to get the kids before we went shopping. I had no clue what to get my parents.

Sometimes my husband and I don’t exchange gifts at all. This year we have four presents each. One year my sister gathered all of the family recipes and copied them into a book for me. She never got around to copying them for herself so a few years later I copied the recipes from my book and gave them back to her.

It’s not always what you give, it’s that you give from your heart. Presents don’t have to be wrapped. A gift doesn’t even have to be a present – it can be a kiss or, a hug you wish would never end.

My husband helped me put together a present for the readers of my blog. It’s not perfect, but it is sincere.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours.
