Home for Christmas

Our new hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina is also home to the founder of the lighted Christmas balls, which celebrates its 13th season this year. As more folks have learned to make the lighted balls, neighborhoods all over town participate in their own unique way of lighting the streets, making Greensboro one of the most beautifully decorated cities in the land.

Delightfully warm days around our house, however, have meant even more time spent in the garden where my latest discoveries include another flower bed trimmed with old bricks, a spoon, terra cotta plaques, a planter hanger, and a drain – all underneath mounds of ivy.

The presents under our tree are decidedly absent in lieu of a contribution to the health clinic I worked all year to establish in the Rift Valley of Kenya, where it proudly serves the healthcare needs of the community.

Without the chore of shopping for Christmas presents, we have spent luxurious days hiking, riding our bikes, and watching movies.

It has been a splendid holiday season, indeed.

From our home to yours, we wish you a very merry Christmas.
